What can i offer yoU?
I am a recent graduate from AFTRS’ (Australian Film Television and Radio School) masters degree in film sound design. I have a passion in both location recording and sound design, leaning slightly more into on-set work. I have a philosophy that all location recordists should understand and be knowledgeable in the post-production of a film, and vice-versa.
When on set I am very thorough when capturing good audio and will always speak up if another take or wild lines are needed for the post team.
In sound design, I am very experimental and like to try things that seem less obvious to another person, from using sounds from unconventional sources or using silence to exaggerate loudness I persevere until I find something that works well with the film’s theme.
My graduating thesis was titled ‘The Hardest Job in the World: A Sound Recordist’s Guide into Location Sound.’ Within this is discussed in great detail the importance of a sound recordist’s involvement in pre-prod, prod and post-prod. (If you contact me below I would gladly send you a copy to browse through to understand my thoughts more clearly). The thesis covers a reflection of time spent at AFTRS, my love for the field and why I feel that sound is extremely underappreciated in the film world.
I offer my services in sound recording, designing and supervising, ensuring that your sound is always top quality no matter which area of your film I am involved in.
